Cordless vacuum cleaners promise freedom when cleaning, but not all devices deliver what they promise. Find out which models are really convincing.
Cordless vacuuming sounds like simple housework, but the devices vary greatly in performance, handling and battery life. Stiftung Warentest tested 14 bagless cordless vacuum cleaners, including ten new models that were purchased between March and July 2025, as well as four tried-and-tested devices that are still available, including from Bosch, AEG and Miele.
In the current issue 02/2026, the suction power, handling, environmental and material properties, durability as well as pollutants and safety aspects were examined. The test ratings ranged from good to poor. Recommended models with a cable are available from around 90 euros, good battery-powered models from around 250 euros.

1st place at Stiftung Warentest: Bosch Unlimited 10
The Bosch Unlimited 10 It impresses above all with its strong suction power on carpets, hard floors and upholstery and reliably removes fine dust, coarse dirt, animal hair and fibers. No other device in the last tests achieved better suction results.
The Bosch Unlimited 10 comes with a second battery, which means it vacuums longer and the batteries can also be used in other Bosch devices. At a low level, the runtime is sufficient for small tasks and ensures less noise. Thanks to the included quick charger, the batteries are ready for use again in just a few hours. With a price of around 700 euros, it is in the upper segment, but it delivers good cleaning results all around.
Many models weaken in everyday life
The suction performance of many cordless vacuum cleaners in the test left a lot to be desired. Some devices did not adequately remove dust, animal hair and fibers from carpets, hard floors or upholstery, others did a poor job of retaining the fine dust that was sucked up and blew it back into the room air. Some models also had very short battery life of just a few minutes at the highest setting, others were loud or took an unusually long time to charge. With some vacuum cleaners, the battery cannot be changed yourself, which makes it difficult to use in the long term. Practical details such as setting them up independently or removing hard-to-reach dirt only worked to a limited extent with many devices, making everyday cleaning much more complicated.
Number 1 at CHIP: Samsung Bespoke AI Jet Ultra CompleteClean
It impressed in the cordless vacuum cleaner test Samsung Bespoke AI Jet Ultra CompleteClean with strong performance and exceptionally extensive features. The model sets standards, especially when it comes to suction power: the vacuum cleaner achieves very good results at both low and highest levels – it performs best at maximum power. It also works thoroughly on carpets and hard floors, and it also performs well in comparison with deep joints.
The device also scores points with its long battery life, as two batteries are included in the scope of delivery. However, the loading times are relatively long. In terms of volume, the vacuum cleaner is in the solid midfield. The suction station with a 2-liter textile bag and integrated accessory storage offers convenience, even if the bag removal located on the back is inconvenient. Handling is good overall, but feels a bit stiff when cornering due to the heavy weight. The overall package is rounded off by a display with remaining running time, a HEPA filter and a height-adjustable telescopic tube.
