In OpenAI’s chatbot, you can now use Malwarebytes as your personal security advisor – and protect yourself better.
Malware and fraud attempts can lurk anywhere on the Internet, and some of them are much more sophisticated than they were 15 or 20 years ago. People who are less tech-savvy can quickly fall victim to this.
Using Malwarebytes in ChatGPT: This is how it works

According to Malwarebytes, a global provider of online cyber protection, the application allows you to find out whether certain information is a scam or spam.
Inserted texts are analyzed and you receive a detailed assessment – especially inexperienced users could have a personal security advisor at hand at all times.
Grandchildren’s tricks and bank fraud would therefore be easier to detect.

Other functions according to the manufacturer:
- Check suspicious links to uncover phishing pages (e.g. short links)
- Check phone numbers to see if they are spam or contacts located abroad
- Check domains on the Internet
- Questionable content can be reported to Malwarebytes via the app in order to report the detection of threats to other users
- Real-time risk assessments through the application
The service stands for all users of ChatGPT available immediately. To do this, you must do the following:
- Open ChatGPT in the browser or as a desktop application
- Click on “Apps” on the left
- Search for “Malwarebytes”
- Click “Connect” to add the application
Then when you start a new chat, you can start with an @ symbol and a list of linked apps will appear. Then select Malwarebytes.
Now you can paste a previously copied text into the chat window to have it evaluated. This can be an email, a WhatsApp message or even a screenshot.

We tested this with a screenshot of a supposed Amazon message. The first assessment comes immediately and there is a quick overview of why it is an attempted fraud. You will then also receive clear recommendations for action.
This could help many potential victims before major financial damage occurs. The SHS rule is also practicalto stop fraudsters.
