Original article from November 20, 2025:
The first details about One UI 8.5 have been floating around the internet for a long time. Now a new leak shows how much Samsung relies on AI to do your work for you. Particularly exciting: A function called Now Nudges. It’s supposed to give you the right clues at the right time – almost as if your cell phone suddenly started thinking.
Now Nudges: Samsung gets to know your routines
According to Android Authority’s discovery, the internal files contain a reference to Samsung’s new assistance function. Now Nudges is built on Galaxy AI and is very reminiscent of a Google feature that Pixel users are already familiar with.
The approach is simple but clever: One UI looks at how you use your smartphone and gives you suggestions when they might be useful to you.
This includes, for example, remembering important information. The feature can pull up older chats, screenshots or other content if it fits a situation. So if you often forget where that one screenshot is hidden – you might feel like you’ve been picked up here.
It gets even more practical with forms. If you fill out something online, One UI 8.5 remembers the appropriate information and helps you complete the same fields next time without typing.
React faster in everyday life – without much thinking
Also Actions on the display wants to better understand One UI 8.5. For example, if a friend sends you an address, Now Nudges recognizes it and immediately offers you the appropriate navigation in Google Maps. Or you look at a text in a foreign language – your Galaxy suggests that you start a translation.
According to the leak, the hints also work in well-known apps such as WhatsApp, Instagram or Facebook. This is all probably possible because of this AI model Gemini Nano, which is already in other Galaxy functions.
It’s not yet clear when we’ll be able to try it out. However, Samsung is likely to start a beta program like every year, probably towards the end of 2025. At the latest with the Galaxy S26 – which is expected in February or March 2026 – One UI 8.5 should then officially launch.
