Only these five parts of the body really need soap:
- hands
- Feet
- Armpits
- middle of the back
- Center of chest
For the rest, it is recommended to use a damp washcloth. In addition, the water temperature should not be higher than 35 degrees so that the skin does not dry out.
Experts also recommend that a shower every two to three days is enough, as long as you are not sweaty or dirty. Showering too often can dry out the skin, as it also flushes out the oils and sebum that keep the skin supple. In addition, the skin’s protective acid mantle can be weakened if too much soap or other personal care products are used daily. Therefore, you should be careful not to shower too often and to use products that are gentle on the skin.
