Kettles with temperature settings bring water not only to 100, but also to other degrees. This is important for different types of tea or a correctly filled hot water bottle. We’ll tell you the best ones in the test.

Kettles with temperature settings differ only slightly from typical models in terms of handling. Instead of you flicking a switch and waiting for the device to finish cooking, it requires one more input. What this looks like depends very much on the model and manufacturer: Some kettles use analog levers so that you can always keep an eye on the selected temperature. It cannot then reset itself between runs. Others use a mix of displays, buttons, and LED indicator lights.
Temperatures usually range from around 40 °C (a good water bath temperature for warming baby milk bottles) to 70 to 80 °C (green or white tea) and 90 °C (for hand filter coffee or French press).
Also not to be despised: the keep-warm function. This means you don’t have to reheat the water if something distracts you for a long time between switching it on and stopping it.
