Mozilla recently introduced version 16 of the mobile email application and optimized a few points.
The Free email client Thunderbird from the makers of Firefox has been delighting users for many years. It is completely open source, ad-free and respects user privacy.
But you also want to have your emails with you on the go. Mozilla has also thought of this and offers the appropriate free app for Android – only iPhone owners come away empty-handed.
The app is updated regularly, here we present it to you the most important innovations of Thunderbird for Android before!
What’s new in Thunderbird 16.0 for Android

The Thunderbird Android client recently received its update to version 16.0. The app version numbers are decoupled from the development of the desktop application. Here are the most important changes at a glance:
New features
- The default behavior when expanding folders can be controlled by a setting
- the preferred content type can be switched between “text/plain” and “text/html”.
Fixed issues
- switching between folders required an excessive number of clicks
- Fixed various edge-to-edge viewing issues
- the application sometimes crashed upon startup
- the application crashed on the Pixel 10 Pro when returning to the message list
- OAuth SMTP authentication failed on some Microsoft servers
But not every known bug could be eliminated. According to Mozilla, deleted or read messages may appear in the Unified Inbox only after a manual update reloaded.
The version jump has definitely made some improvements, but it hasn’t brought with it any earth-shattering innovations – but many users certainly appreciate it when an update doesn’t throw the usual interface overboard.
