Gaming expert Razer is now also incorporating AI assistants into its headsets – including cameras. This means you no longer have to pick up your cell phone while playing; you can simply ask.
Many manufacturers are currently working on smart glasses with built-in cameras. Razer’s target group, on the other hand, is gaming enthusiasts – and they primarily wear gaming headsets. The manufacturer had his “Project Motoko” already announced at the CES trade fair at the beginning of the year. We were now able to try out the AI headset ourselves at the MWC in Barcelona.
In terms of housing, Project Motoko is based on the Razer Barracuda headset, so the feel and audio quality are similar. In fact, when you tried them out at the trade fair stand, the headphones fit very well. There are two cameras on board that see pretty much the same thing as us. This means the built-in AI assistant can answer our questions.
The user is free to choose which AI assistant is used. And there are also many use cases. For example, we can wear the headset while cooking and have the recipe whispered in our ears. The basic idea is that the cameras see the screen while gaming and the artificial intelligence can therefore provide tips and assistance.

“Can I defeat the Ender Dragon with these items?”
During the hands-on at the MWC, for example, the inventory in Minecraft was filmed and analyzed by the AI. This meant that the voice in our earpieces could tell us what we could build with the items we had collected, or whether we were well equipped enough to defeat the Ender Dragon. This is already working well.
So if you would rather wear smart headphones instead of smart glasses with an AI assistant, you will soon be able to do so. Razer’s Project Motoko is scheduled to appear in the second half of 2026. The manufacturer remained vague about the expected price. This should be in the area of AI glasses. However, the smart glasses are available in many price ranges, so that doesn’t really help. The Razer headset Barracuda Pro (without cameras and AI) is available from around 150 euros.
