The smartphone manufacturer Oppo is back on the German market. Direct sales begin with the new Find X9 Pro and Reno14 series models.
Oppo has flipped the switch and is now selling smartphones directly via its own German website again. The flagship Find X9 Pro with the Hasselblad camera is now officially in the shopping cart. The middle class around the Reno14 series and the affordable entry-level models of the A series are also available again.
A few days ago there was still digital emptiness on the domain. Anyone who wanted an Oppo device in the meantime had to resort to third-party dealers or imports. This finally ends the long dry spell for fans of the brand. The trigger for the comeback is the operational implementation of the agreement in the patent dispute with Nokia.
Oppo returns: The smartphone giant wants to conquer the German market again
This conflict over 4G and 5G licenses effectively wiped Oppo out of the German market in the summer of 2022. In the meantime, the withdrawal seemed almost final. Now the global license agreement from the beginning of 2024 is finally taking effect in local logistics. The warehouses are full and the direct sales channel is back in place.
This is good news for the German smartphone market. Samsung and Xiaomi recently shared the field almost alone in the middle class. Another relevant player will stimulate business and hopefully put pressure on prices. However, Oppo now has to deliver. After the long break, customer trust is unlikely to be at its previous level. Marketing will have to make the difference here in the next few months.
