Blocking your Bank account is a proven best option for any bank account holder if your Automated Teller Machine (ATM) card or phone is lost or got stollen by criminals.

The Nigeria Communication Commission (NCC) has that all the banks in Nigeria should dedicate USSD for your customers in case of emergency that need their accounts to be blocked and safeguard their finances.

NCC further noted that the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) said fraud has affected electronic payment solutions such as Automated Teller Machines (ATMs), Nigeria Inter-Bank Settlement System (NIBBS) instant payment and mobile banking. In the words of the commission in Abuja, the director of Consumer Affairs Bureau, Efosa Idehen said.

In compliance to the directive, Nigeria banks have released their USSD code for blocking accounts if ATM card, or phone is lost or stolen.
