Lenovo is showing an exciting console with a flexible display at the MWC – CHIP is there and took a closer look at the prototype.
Lenovo has on the Mobile World Congress 2026 presented a concept of a foldable gaming handheld in Barcelona: The Legion Go Fold offers a 7.7-inch POLED touch display that can be expanded to 11.6 inches. Unlike folding cell phones or a Nintendo DS, the screen is not “folded shut”; instead, the display bends backwards.
The large screen can be used either in landscape or vertical mode. Using a split-screen view, a tutorial video or instructions are displayed above, while a game is running below. A small, round touch display is installed on the right controller. You can place a hotkey above it or scroll through small widgets that show CPU usage, for example.

Flexible use modes: Legion Go Fold hands-on
As with the Legion Go 2, the right controller can be used as a mouse. A wireless keyboard with a touchpad that can be docked was also shown – so the Legion Go Fold could be used as a small laptop. Windows 11 is used as the operating system. The folding console is powered according to Lenovo from an Intel Core Ultra 7 258V chip, which uses 32 GB of RAM.
In our first hands-on, the handheld console seemed quite cheap and plastic-heavy. The touch display is very susceptible to fingerprints and the very visible fold still looks like previous foldable cell phones. The mechanics for removing and attaching controllers also seem less sophisticated than with the Nintendo Switch and its successor. The build quality is perhaps due to the fact that it is only a concept.
There is no information on further specifications, price or possible release date. It is unclear whether the console will ever come to market. In our experience, products that do not leave the conception phase are often shown at the MWC. Samsung showed about one last year Prototype for a foldable handheld game console – here the display only folds horizontally.
