Windows 11 has been available to Windows 10 users for years free as an upgrade offered. Nevertheless, many users are currently still using Windows 10. The fact that new desktop computers and notebooks are almost exclusively equipped with Windows 11 does not change this.
Current Evaluations However, Statcounter.com shows that there is now more movement in the market: more and more users seem to be actively switching to Windows 11. In a direct comparison (worldwide), Windows 11 is now clearly ahead.
If you look at them current distribution61.7 percent (+11% as of December 2025) of all Windows computers worldwide are currently running Windows 11, while Windows 10 is only 36.5 percent.
