PDP CRISIS: “Wike should not be taken for granted” – Rivers Lawmaker

At the time when every Political party in Nigeria is synergizing on how to win the 2023 presidential election, it appear that the main opposition Party, the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, are still having inhouse disagreement. This has led to different public utterances from the top members of the party in recent months especially, after the party convention which brought it’s presidential Candidate, Atiku Abubakkar.

However, the Lawmaker representing Omuma State Constituency, at the Rivers State House of Assembly, Hon. Kelechi Nwogu, has called on the leadership of his party to toil the path of peace and justice with the Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike.

The Lawmaker gave the advice on Monday, September 26, through a statement spotted by iBelieveAll Blog.

Kelechi Nwogu said the Peoples Democratic Party leadership would not be calling for peace in the Party when they have failed to do that with justice.

He warned that no matter what they’re doing, the Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike, should not be taken for granted but must be appreciated for his efforts in building the Party back after it was desserted.

According to Kelechi Nwogu, “You cannot be a proponent for peace without justice. The lingering crisis in our party PDP, calls for inward evaluation for political solutions rather than unnecessary grandstanding.”

“Gov Wike should not be taken for granted, rather he should be appreciated. He brought this party back to life, the enemies are those who want to subvert our constitution!”

Recall that there have been some exchange of words between the camp of the Party Chairman, Iyorchia Ayu, and Governor Wike’s camp after the Party Chairman was asked to resign from his position to enable a Southerner take over the leadership of the party.
