Reactions as media personality questioned Julius Berger for blocking entire road to traffic in Rivers while that don’t happen in Abuja

Nigerian Media Personality, Ndume Green has questioned the construction company giant, Julius Berger, on the reason they blocked roads in Port Harcourt, Rivers State capital, to traffic thereby shutting down economic activities in the area.
Ndume Green asked the question through his social media post on Monday, September 19.
He said the same construction company is building flyovers in the nation capital, Abuja, without blocking any road whereas the case is different in Port Harcourt.
The Rivers born Media Practitioner said in Abuja, people are still making use of the read while construction is going on while people are subjected to suffering due to the shutting down of road in Port Harcourt.
In his post, Mr Green asked; “Julius Berger is building flyovers in Abuja and people are passing without closing the road entirely.
“Why is the same Julius Berger blocking an entire road to traffic and shutting down the city while doing the same thing in Port Harcourt?”
His post has gotten lots of reactions from some of his social media friends:
Wheoma Umejuru: “Abuja roads are very wide and have 4 lanes. 1 lane in Abuja is 3 lanes in PH and this spreads to 4 lanes on the express. The terrain is not the same, the modus operandi cannot be the same.”
JD Kosita-Madu; “It is obvious isn’t it? Portharcourt is tight. The flyovers are being built in already highly populated areas. Apart from old town, most areas in Portharcourt are without appropriate road networks. Don’t you know that if alternative routes were to be created many communities will be affected.
Honestly, I think the guys here have done good considering the bottlenecks. Abuja na different matter.”
Sopi Jnr: “Oga Ndume is just shouting ameliorate ameliorate everywhere as if the present govt ever has plans to do anything close to reducing suffering of Rivers people.
If there is anything as “ameliorate” in his agenda, we wouldn’t be talking about high unemployment rate in the State and payment of gratuities since 1398.
Somebody should mention one project intended to ameliorate suffering of Rivers people without political intents or undoing of others. And I will tell how self centered such project was planned.”
Chris Ottis: “Sir, Green, do you know why? Abuja has a master plan, it is a well planned city which include alot of root to navigate and awesome road next work, the roads over there is wild enough that can accommodate vehicles while project of any calibre is going on at same spot.
But in Rivers state especially, in Port harcourt, look at our road, poor road network, congested city, even some building are built right on the road on top of drainage we include politic and tribal sentiment in alot of things we do.
Sir Ndume, i have repeatedly said, in 25-30years from now, Akwa Ibom state will be contesting with Abuja and other Cities within Africa when it comes to infrastructural development and road network.
The Governor of Ebonyi state has today constructed 23 fly-overs without noise or throwing any sort of tantrums at anyone of knotting his head for himself saying his he has done well instead the man has repeatedly said he has not done enough due to the meager and limited resources to the state.”
We can confirm that Julius Berger Construction Company is currently constructing flyovers at Location junction and Rumuokuta area of Obio/Akpor Local Government Area of the State while the flyover at Ikoku area in Port Harcourt City LGA is near completion.
