Ulefone is expanding its portfolio of rugged outdoor smartphones with the RugOne Xsnap 7 Pro. Its special feature, in addition to its thickness and the XL battery: a removable action camera.
At MWC 2026 in Barcelona, manufacturers are showing all sorts of new or expanded smartphone concepts. Especially for those who like to experiment Outdoor smartphones (test) In this sense, well-known manufacturer Ulefone is bringing the new RugOne Xsnap 7 Pro to the trade fair stand. In addition to the usual robustness for the category, a huge battery with 9,000 mAh capacity and a large display, the cell phone particularly wants to score points with its additional camera module.
The “modular portable camera” on the back complements the permanently integrated dual camera. It can be removed from the housing by pressing very firmly on the orange button and pulling on the lens and then connects wirelessly to the smartphone. The action camera itself is cube-shaped and compact.
RugOne Xsnap 7 Pro as an extreme sporty outdoor cell phone
The primary target group should be fans of extreme sports, we were told at the exhibition stand. The idea would be not only to have a particularly robust cell phone in your pocket that can survive even major falls without damage, but also to be able to record your own activities as flexibly as possible.
In our hands-on with the RugOne Xsnap 7 Pro, we were not able to test the camera quality and functionality of the action camera in more detail due to the early software and associated teething problems. In the hands, the somewhat bulky smartphone looks no different than its colleagues in the category. The only thing that bothered us was that the mechanism of the action camera was a little too secure. The button shouldn’t be pressed accidentally, but having to exert such strong pressure as with the prototypes for MWC 2026 is no fun either.
Under the hood, the RugOne Xsnap 7 Pro is said to be equipped with a fairly powerful MediaTek Dimensity 8400 and twelve GB of RAM. Like the 6.7-inch OLED display with 120 Hertz refresh rate and the specifications of the individual cameras, RugOne promises surprisingly high-quality technology for an outdoor smartphone.
The RugOne Xsnap 7 Pro is scheduled to be released in mid-2026. Unfortunately, we haven’t been able to give us an exact price or even a price range yet. Depending on the camera quality, we expect costs of at least 800 euros.
