At Honor, the future belongs to robots. They even dance on stage at the MWC in Barcelona. For now, only the “robot phone” with a gimbal camera and human gestures is in the starting blocks. But Honor also has more conventional devices in its luggage.
“We all love science fiction”says Honor CEO James Li at his presentation at the MWC in Barcelona Honor Robot Phone a. This is supposed to be the first real AI companion, a robot in a cell phone housing with its own character and lively gestures. The centerpiece is the extendable camera in the gimbal system, which can move on several axes – “like a human neck”says Honor.
The smartphone, with its robotic eye that observes everything, should always be there, scan the environment and then help with all everyday tasks via an AI assistant. Also on questions like “Does my outfit look good?” Should the Robot Phone have an answer – whether it will ever be different than “You always look great!” has to show itself. The whole thing is packaged in a very friendly way: the robot is a cute, harmless little helper like something out of an animated film.

In order to accommodate all of this in a cell phone, Honor has come up with a lot of technical ideas. And an integrated gimbal for stabilized action photography is actually an interesting innovation. The “robot” aspect of the Honor Robot Phone initially seems like a gimmick with unclear practical suitability. It is scheduled to appear in the second half of 2026. We were able to look at a prototype at the trade fair stand, but it is not suitable for hands-on yet.
Finally, a humanoid robot danced on stage, including a backflip. The Honor Android should at some point go shopping for us, take on various tasks or generally accompany us in everyday life. However, like most humanoid robots that are currently being developed, it is not yet ready for series production.

New folding smartphone and more
In addition, Honor also had more “conventional” devices with it. The folding smartphone Honor Magic V6 We could already hold it in our hands. It feels very similar to its predecessor. The Honor Magic V5 (test) We tested it in the summer of 2025 and with its great handling and hardware, the thin butterfly received a very good rating.
The successor has a generous 6,600 mAh battery. This is a record among the folding smartphones we tested, as most of them stop at around 5,000 mAh. However, the Honor Magic V6 shouldn’t be any thicker. That’s how we felt when we tried it out. Honor claims to have reduced the depth of the inner fold by 44 percent. In addition, the 6.52-inch and 7.95-inch OLED displays should have a higher maximum brightness. We’ll test this.
Honor showed the tablet next to it MagicPad4. We have that already tested and found to be very good. And also the new edition of the notebook Honor MagicBook Pro 14 was introduced.
