Shortly after the market launch of its Apple Vision Pro competitor, Samsung appears to be already working on more compact glasses, the Samsung Galaxy Smart Glasses. The first details have now become known.
The Apple Vision Pro shows what the future of the digital world will most likely look like. The “mixed reality” of visionOS 26, in combination with the practical eye and finger tracking, makes it clear that the concept already works. What the smart glasses seem to be missing are displays in the glasses. According to the report, the focus is probably on “audiovisual capture” and on using the glasses as a useful addition to the smartphone, with which they can be connected via Bluetooth and WLAN. So it would probably be more about the audio integration of AI models like Gemini Live, which record the environment via the glasses camera and speak corresponding information into the ears. This would be practical for navigation or for short questions like “What kind of building is this?”
The report also notes that a version of the glasses is said to be in development specifically for the US market, which, identical to the Galaxy XR, points to a market launch in the US. There is no official information from Samsung yet, but rumors suggest that it will be released in the course of next year 2026. Samsung is said to have already secured the “Galaxy Glasses” brand.
