Hot quickly, robust and versatile: Stefan Henssler’s frying pan secured top spot in the test, especially thanks to its very short heating time and the durable honeycomb coating. It is ready for use after just a few seconds and stores the heat reliably, ensuring even frying results. The non-stick coating works extremely effectively – even delicate foods such as pancakes glide through the pan without any problems. The oven resistance up to 230 degrees is also practical, which significantly expands the range of uses. In terms of handling, the pan impresses with its pleasant weight and high-quality workmanship, even if the handle could be a little wider. A real downside is that the pan is not dishwasher safe. Overall, however, the Hensslers pan offers very good value for money and is recommended as a long-lasting all-rounder for everyday kitchen use.
We reported in detail in ours as early as July 2025 Frying pan test over the Hensslers pan. We can now also evaluate the pan in a long-term test, as it has been in regular use for over six months.
Our conclusion after this time: Fried eggs etc. still glide over the coating just as easily as when they were first used. The honeycomb structure also serves its purpose: the surface still looks almost new after months.
In this test you will find out which features particularly impressed us, how the Hensslers frying pan compares to other pans when baking pancakes and where, despite all its strengths, there is still room for improvement. We will also tell you what the collaboration between Steffen Henssler and the brand is all about and what makes pans with a honeycomb structure particularly special.
Stefan Henssler’s pan impressed in the test with its functional design
The manufacturer calls the honeycomb structure of the Hensslers frying pan the heart of it – and it is actually a real eye-catcher. But the structure should not only be visually impressive: it ensures even heat distribution and prevents food from sticking. This effect was confirmed in practical tests – at least if the temperature was turned down early. More on that later.
With a weight of around 1.2 kilograms, the pan sits comfortably in the hand and provides stability without seeming too heavy.
Pancake test: How good is Steffen Henssler’s pan?
In the practical test, the Hensslers pan quickly shows one of its greatest strengths: the very short heating time. After about 40 seconds, a teaspoon of butter was completely melted, making the pan ready for immediate use. At the same time, it retains the heat for a comparatively long time, which enables even frying. However, the rapid heat development requires some attention, as food can burn more quickly if the temperature is too high.
The frying result is particularly impressive: the pancakes tested were evenly browned and crispy and could be turned over without any problems. Thanks to the effective non-stick coating, nothing stuck – the food literally glided over the surface. Even after intensive hand cleaning, there were no scratches or signs of wear, even after six months of use.
Another plus point is the versatility of the Hensslers pan. It is suitable for all common types of stoves, including induction, gas, electric and ceramic. It is also oven-safe up to 230 °C, which opens up additional possible uses, such as for finishing cooking or gratinating dishes.
Points of criticism: hand cleaning and grip comfort
Unfortunately, the Hensslers frying pan is not dishwasher safe and must be cleaned by hand. Basically, this is recommended for all pans, but if you’re in a hurry, you’ll have to allow a little more time.
The stainless steel handle also has minor weaknesses: In terms of design, the narrow signature handle looks elegant, but it can be unwieldy when the pan is heavily loaded. In addition, it initially becomes warm at high temperatures. This isn’t a problem because the handle can be easily grasped further back, but it’s something you should keep in mind in everyday life.
The Hensslers pan wins the test – and rightly so!
Would we recommend the pan to our friends? Definitely! It impresses with its robust workmanship, its excellent frying properties and its long-lasting coating. Even after six months of regular use, the non-stick properties are still the same as they were on the first day and you can hardly tell that they have been used visually.
Who is behind the Hensslers pans?
TV chef Steffen Henssler’s pans are sold under the Hensslers brand.
In addition to pans, the brand also includes pots, knives and other kitchen tools that, according to the manufacturer, are inspired by his professional experience. The products should offer well-thought-out function, longevity and quality “with his signature”.
The products are often available in our own online shop (henssler.shop) and available from specialist dealers such as Carl Stieß. Just Sales Food GmbH is the manufacturer and distributor behind the brand. The collection features stainless steel frying pans with a honeycomb structure and non-stick coating.
How good are pans with a honeycomb structure?
Honeycomb structure pans combine a non-stick coating with a slightly raised, honeycomb metal surface. This reduces the contact area between the food and the bottom of the pan, making it easier to fry evenly and reducing food sticking. At the same time, the metal struts ensure better heat conduction and protect the coating from scratches, so that careful use of metal cutlery is also possible (which we did not try in the test, however).
In practice, these pans enable gentle and even frying of delicate foods such as fried eggs, fish or roasted potatoes. In addition, due to the combination of non-stick coating and sturdy base, they can be more durable than traditional non-stick pans.
We were able to confirm this in our test: the pan distributes the heat evenly, makes it easier to turn and reliably protects the coating – during normal use.
