Top 10 Worst Hollywood Actors and Actresses

When it comes to acting, there’s a fine line between a hit and miss. Straight from the tell-it-like-it-is sources of IMDb and Rotten Tomatoes, we’re sharing the actors and actresses that have been listed as some of the least favored in Hollywood.
The Worst Hollywood Actors and Actresses:
Jennifer Love Hewitt
Although Jennifer Love Hewett sits lower, at #66 on IMDb‘s Top 100 Worst Actors/Actresses List, she has earned the rare distinction of never making a “fresh,” or, above 60% film, according to critics. The actress has an average Rotten Tomatoes score of only 18.9%, thanks to several poorly-rated movies.
Sister Act 2: Back in the Habit (7%) and 2005’s The Truth About Love (0%) are just a couple of examples. But, according to Rotten Tomatoes, her part in 1997’s I Know What You Did Last Summer was her worst career role thus far, warranting a 43% likely thanks to “Diehard fans of the genre.”

Chuck Norris
Although he has a large fan base due to his agile karate and martial-arts moves, according to Slate and Rotten Tomatoes, Chuck Norris has been voted as The Worst Rated Actor. Many movie critics believe this could be due to unevenly divided energy and effort between body and voice acting abilities.
With an average Rotton Tomatoes rating of 18.4% and critics’ comments such as “Norris again fails to find a niche for his limited talent,” it’s no wonder he ended up at #36 on IMDb‘s Top 100 Worst Actors/Actresses List. While we know what these critics think, we wonder if we’ll be seeing Norris’ jabs on the screen again soon.
Tommy Wiseau
After Tommy Wiseau wrote, produced, and acted in his 2003 movie, The Room, he landed in the #1 spot on IMDb‘s Top 100 Worst Actors/Actresses List. With many ratings of 1/10, the flick was even called “Craptastic” by one critic.
Rotten Tomatoes user Felix Vasquez Jr. describes the film as “A movie so bad, so inept, so unbelievably painful, it’s almost impossible to comprehend anyone thought it would be great on-screen.” This could have led to the movie’s 3.7/10 rating on IMDb, with particular attention put on Wiseau’s alleged confusing and inconsistent roles.
Ruby Rose
After she appeared in John Wick: Chapter 2 and TV shows such as Orange Is the New Black and Batwoman, Ruby Rose’s acting abilities came under fire. In 2019, she starred as Batwoman in her admitted dream role, but the Aussie actress soon left the production.
While Rotten Tomatoes rated the series 84%, the average audience score was only 16%. In fact, the critic section for the film is riddled with negative comments. “Just Bad. Really. Just spare the time and watch something else,” one viewing-fanatic warned.
David Hasselhoff
David Hasselhoff’s role in the swimsuit-filled movie Baywatch landed him at #49 on IMDb‘s Top 100 Worst Actors/Actresses List. The movie was rated 5.3/10 by IMDb, with reviews of less than impressive by many. User Kyrycek19 commented, “David Hasselhoff [was] repulsive, a lousy actor and an even worse singer,” on IMDb.
If comments like that weren’t enough, Rotten Tomatoes rated the film only 18%, while its audience score reached 69%. Not everyone adores Hasselhoff’s singing voice, but according to reviews, many of his fans believe his later roles redeemed his reputation after Baywatch.
Jamie Kennedy
At #2 on IMDb‘s Top 100 Worst Actors/Actresses List for his role in Son of the Mask, Jamie Kennedy only earned a 6% rating from Rotten Tomatoes. Many viewers wondered why the film was created and described it as “Terrible, awful, extremely bad, and horrible.” Their advice for Jamie? “Stop experimenting with bad movie scripts.”
Kennedy’s IMDb biography lists one of his famous quotes as, “I think anybody can be a good actor.” But, it seems many viewers of his work in this particular movie disagree entirely. Ironically, his next film, currently in pre-production, is called Don’t Suck. No pressure, right?
Madonna
As a musician, she’s arguably been a queen since the ’80s. But as an actress, critics have described Madonna’s acting as unfavorable. Robert Ebert from the Chicago Sun-Times actually advised against seeing her movie, Body of Evidence, completely. In fact, he labeled it as one of his “Most hated movies of all time.”
According to IMDb, the movie that landed her the #35 spot on IMDb‘s Top 100 Worst Actors/Actresses List was 1996’s Evita. Although it was rated 63% on Rotten Tomatoes and 6.3/10 on IMDb, unfortunately, what critic Tim Brayton calls Madonna’s “Wholly artificial and forced performance” is what must have landed her on the list.
Gwyneth Paltrow
Daughter of producer and director Bruce Paltrow and award-winning actress Blythe Danner, Gwyneth Paltrow has unfortunately received some low ratings on Rotten Tomatoes. Several of her movies, including Mortdecai, rated a mere 12%, and others have confused many Hollywood film and TV lovers.

Although she has one Oscar on her resume, Paltrow’s early role in View From the Top warranted several negative Rotten Tomatoes critic reviews. “Miss Paltrow? We’re gonna need that Oscar back,” one critic wrote. Common Sense Media‘s Nell Minow even commented, “What was Gwyneth Paltrow thinking?”
Owen Wilson
Wow! Many fans of Owen Wilson have voiced opinions on platforms such as Rotten Tomatoes and IMDb that he is unable to play any characters on the big screen that aren’t himself. Whether he’s trying to portray a serious mood or not, many believe that his silliness shines through too much to take him seriously at all.

Wilson is often cast in “Weirdo” roles or as his goofy self, such as in The Royal Tenenbaums, Wedding Crashers, Hall Pass, and Meet the Fockers, making it hard for a lot of viewers to see him in any other light. While many might vibe with a different sense of humor, IMDb lists him as one of their worst actors.
Hulk Hogan
From Rocky III to Thunder in Paradise, Hulk Hogan had a fairly successful transition on paper from the world of WWE to the Hollywood big screen and television. But despite the multiple entries on his filmography list, many believed that Hogan didn’t bring much to the table besides big muscles and fight scenes.

It’s safe to say that Hulk was type-casted, but it wasn’t paying off with IMDb critics. His 1996 family comedy, Santa with Muscles scored only 2.6 out of 10. With a score like that, not many were surprised to see that Hogan found himself on the top 100 worst actors and actresses list.
