Strike on February 2nd: This is what Verdi demands
In all federal states, the negotiations are mostly conducted with the municipal employers’ associations (KAV), Verdi says in a statement Press release. Above all, significantly better working conditions in local public transport are required. In Bavaria, Brandenburg, Saarland, Thuringia and at the Hamburger Hochbahn it is also about higher wages and salaries.
It also says: “It can be assumed that public transport in the affected transport companies will come to a standstill. Only the approximately 5,000 employees in Lower Saxony are not called on strike because of the ongoing peace obligation – at the Hamburger Hochbahn it will be decided later this Friday after the current negotiations whether the union will also call for a strike here on February 2nd.”
