What to know about Burna Boy Grammy Awards nominations
Nigeria is one of the world entertainment hub with lots of talents and creativities. In fact, you can’t talk of entertainment industry in any part of the world without mentioning Nigeria.
The country is so blessed with talents in music, movie and other creative industries.
So when you hear the names of the likes of Fela Kuti, Peter Edochie, Genevieve Nnaji, Omotola Jegede, Wizkid, Burna Boy, Davido, etc, then, you have to know that these are highly talented entertainment players in Nigeria.
However, Burna Boy has stood out in recent years with his back to back nominations at Grammy Awards. Don’t forget that he won the award in 2020 with his “Twice As Tall” album.
On The retrospect, Burna Boy had now becomes the the first and only Artiste from Africa to earn Four [4] consecutive GRAMMYs nominations since 2019. Is this not incredible?
When Damini Ebunoluwa Ogulu MFR, known professionally as Burna Boy, was first nominated by Grammy Awards in 2019, believe me, many people didn’t know he will go this far in the industry but a year later, he was nominated again Best Global Music Album which he won.
Burna Boy’s consistency has made him to become one of the best export from Nigeria. He is now needed in different parts of the world because of his creativities and lovely stage performances.
Take a glance at these; In 2019, he “African Giant” album was nominated, 2020 his “Twice As Tall” was nominated which he won, 2021, his “Do Yourself” & Justice [Album] was nominated though he lost out to Angelique Kidjo, now 2022, his “Love, Damini” & “Last Last” have been put out for nominations.
Burna Boy’s latest album, Love, Damini, was nominated in the Best Global Music Album category, alongside other albums from international music stars.
The singer was also nominated for Best Global Music Performance for his hit track, “Last Last.”
Hopefully, Burna Boy is going to go home with a Grammy Awards when the award night will be held in 2023.
